Flames
Tormented and hurt be mine essence
taken from me this light of love has she
My inspiration gone
what have I left?
tenderly lit with love and caring
so rudely smothered before me
Yet be it another story she speaks to me
the candle still burns says she
The half moon you can see be but illusion
’tis whole
light illuminates but half
We’re flowing too fast
through this ocean of life
like a falling star
I want us not to flame and die
Keep this friendship
and let us walk
slowly down the path
Such a flame
such a beauty
I want never to smother
our light eternal bonds and guides us
Heed my words of wisdom
’tis for thee they are spoken
Try shall I to see thy way
to understand when thine lips are afar
To trust in what is not seen or felt
to have faith that the candle burns on
though I can see it not
’Tis hard to believe the fire burns on
when I feeleth not its warmth
Trust must I in this woman of light
this precious treasure of my life
for she has brought me here
In my sorrow and sadness
to the sea shall I turn
my first love and guiding light
my salty tears to thee shall fall
at one from whence they came
Yet in her waters
I shall always see thine face
hear thine lips speaking . . . .
