Misty Morning
Cleanse my essence
Misty morning be upon me
Raiseth thy warmth to the sky
What a miracle be this world
My neighbor is off fishing
Off into the rising mist he disappeareth
Blinding glare of the risen sun upon him
Always thought me strange did he
For prefereth I to stay behind
Admire this glory shorebound
Writing to capture the moment
For here this morn is eternally bound
Fill my senses with thine morning scent
Notice how morning scents confer all
the distinctive pungency of the morning forest
the coolness of the lake mist
it says “I’m here”
“This is me”
“Good morning”
“Take me as I am”
Blendeth now do we
Take thine scent deep within
See thine glory before me
And here on paper so doth I try to give some back
What purpose have I here?
Searcheth deep
Yet cannot find
As three ducks swim before me this morn off into the mist
only peace fills me
Oneness with the natural fold
Man here is thankfully not alone
Let us stop pretending that we are
