Out Of The Closet
Out of the closet this day be found
hiding too long
escape must I
winter’s long hibernation thus blooms
returneth I to accept thee
mine foundation and inspiration
thine beckon call I heareth daily
thy splendor I cannot escape
master of excuses to hideth be I
why playeth I such games with mine self?
denieth that which mine essence be
more preoccupied with daily routines
than to put pen to paper and meet with thee
Now at long last in my backyard we embrace
gazeth out to sea to be with thee
blustery be thy love today
chill of windy salty gusts
penetrates to my core
no other souls be out today
yet in shorts
to be closer to thee be I
white caps brush thy stormy seas
loving seagulls hover above
the deepest of blue be thine eyes
reflecteth love from above
in nature’s embrace life returneth to this land
green spring passion
sprouts flowering fruits
did we sleep together
cloistered by winter’s snow?
me thinks such must be
for truly I am never alone
together for all seasons we are
’tis I that forgets to say “I love you”
