Why a Physician?

Why a Physician?
Why a physician have I become?
Close to humanity day after day
When indeed I crave a different life
The life of blue and green
The wonder of nature is my salvation
the trees
the sky
the water
the rain
How I prefer to converse with them
to be in their holy presence
Prefereth I to be without words
for then I may hear your silence
Prefereth I to be without pretense
for then I may feel your presence
Prefereth I to be without a front
for then I may see your essence
Prefereth I to be naked
for then we may be one
A life of a physician have I chosen,
yet a poet shall I always be
Perhaps in some way I may bridge the two
and have nature heal man
